The Summit Country Day School will introduce Michael Bradley as the new varsity boys’ basketball coach on Monday, May 17.

Bradley will meet with Upper School basketball players Monday morning. He will then meet the faculty, parents, and the rest of the community that evening. The 7:00 p.m. meeting will take place on The Summit campus at Kyte Theater. Media is welcome to attend.

"We are excited to hire Mike as the new face of our basketball program,” said Athletic Director Gregory Dennis. "He brings with him an unmatched wealth of basketball knowledge and expertise. His passion for the game and high character will resonate well with our community.”

Throughout the six-week interview process, Bradley’s pedigree and knowledge for the game separated him from the other 40 candidates. He was recruited to play at the University of Kentucky, where he won a National Championship in 1998. Bradley later transferred to Villanova University, where he was named a consensus All American in 2001. He was then selected in the first round of the NBA draft, where he played for five seasons. Bradley is still very well connected in basketball circles, as his references include: Rick Pitino, Tubby Smith, Steve Lappas, Jay Wright, Maurice Cheeks, Lenny Wilkins, etc.

Bradley previously served as a volunteer assistant at Covington Catholic High School after several years of running camps in the greater Boston area. He has also worked as a representative for several European-based players. Bradley and his wife now run the Michael Bradley Foundation and are owners of Moksha Yoga in Crescent Springs, KY. The Summit Country Day School maintains a long-standing tradition of athletic success at the local, state, and national levels. With state-of-the-art facilities, experienced coaches and dedicated student-athletes, The Summit is able to support 45 teams over a three-season athletic schedule in grades 7-12. In addition, a parent-run, K-6 program provides an introduction to team sports. Over the past 10 years, 15% of Summit athletes have gone on to participate in university or college sports. More than 75% of the Upper School competes for one or multiple teams.
