Farrell Ackley

Because of Farrell Ackley’s deep relationship with the school over many decades, Mr. Jellig, Head of School, asked that this letter be forwarded to all alumni.

February 23, 2009

Dear Upper School Parents,

It is with deep sadness that I write to let you know Upper School faculty member Farrell Ackley has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. He has been a friend, mentor, teacher, advocate, and coach at The Summit for over 38 years, present to our community in too many ways to innumerate.

We ask that you support Farrell and his family with prayer and notes of encouragement, but that you also respect their privacy.  We will report significant developments as they occur, with the family’s permission.

Until Farrell returns, the school is working together to cover his classes. Jerry Jellig will teach AP Government. Kelly Cronin and Tim Jedding will jointly cover AP US History. Tracy Law will teach AP Psychology.

If you would like to send cards, Farrell’s address is:

7135 Five Mile Road
Cincinnati, Ohio 45230

Sincerely,

Dr. Patricia White
